The Space Between Us

 My dear, why start anew?

The old chapter's closed, yet you pursue

A fresh beginning, leaving me behind

Why ignore my presence, my heart and mind?

How did you master the art of silence?

Is there still a space for me, or am I too late?

I stand at the door, yearning to enter

Yet, it's sealed, and I'm left to wonder and wait.

Is it truly you out there, or someone unknown?

A stranger in disguise, or a love overgrown?

The space between us grows, a chasm wide and deep

I'm lost in the darkness, searching for a glimpse, a spark to keep.
