Dry Bones

Days have passed, and we wander, lost.

Brighter days once shone before us,

Now but a distant memory.

Light fades, and night's dark veil descends,

Coldness envelopes the earth, and hope ends.

Our enemies rejoice out our demise,

For they see our strength has folded like the light.

Our bones remain dry, devoid of life,

Where has our vitality gone?

The moon, a glowing crescent, knows perhaps,

Shining bright in the dark of night.

The sun, a fiery orb, knows maybe,

Shing bold in the light of day.

Together, we once stood as one,

Holding hands in unity, under the same sun.

Each holding another's defense, a bond so strong,

A mechanism to survive, where love did belong.

But now, thoughts of a leave, a farewell, linger on,

Untill further depart, when we'll be gone.

The passing wind whispers secrets, maybe.
